Stamp Issue "Science and Technology – Digital Electronics"

Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue the stamp theme “Science and Technology – Digital Electronics” on 30^th November, 2020, and this is the eighth “Science and Technology” stamp series. Digital Electronics, in its Physical and Mathematical components, forms the basis of the creation of immeasurable Electronic Devices that are currently part of our lives, such as: the Internet, Computers, Tablets, Mobile Phones, Robots, etc. However, in the Mathematical component, it is Boolean Algebra which constitutes its Fundamental Theoretical Tool and that will allow its development.

This issue includes a set of six stamps and one souvenir sheet. The images in the stamps, for two Input Variables, the Truth Tables, the Boolean Expressions, the Logical Symbols, the Basic Electronic Circuits and the Venn Diagrams are presented, for the NOT, AND and OR Gates. Presented in the Souvenir Sheet are: two Electronic Circuits (I and II) called Half-Adder which allow the Addition of Two Bits, being S its Sum and Ts the Carry Out; the Truth Table of the Operation; the Logical Expression of the Sum and also an image of George Boole, who had an important contributions to the development of Boolean Algebra.

The above issue will be available for sale at the General Post Office (9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m.), the Communications Museum (9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m., 2:30p.m. to 5:30p.m.), and the “Rua do Campo” Post Office (9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m.). The mail service for the relative philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark will be available on the issue date at the above locations. The philatelic products are as follows:
