Macao Post and
Telecommunications Bureau will issue the stamp
theme “70th Macao Grand
Prix” on 9th
November, 2023. The Macau Grand
Prix was organized for the first time in 1954
and this year marks its 70th
running. Over the decades, the event has gone
through many changes and evolved from a
regional competition to a world-renowned
international event. A large number of world
class legendary drivers have made their grand
entrances here. Meanwhile, countless tourists
from all over the world have been attracted to
the city to enjoy the exciting races and
witness the great charm of the Macau Grand
Prix.
To commemorate this
milestone, the Grand Prix will be held in two
weekends this year, from 11th to
12th and 16th to 19th November, to
bring more spectacular races for audiences and
fans.
This issue includes
a set of six stamps and one souvenir sheet.
The stamp design illustrates the world’s
finest road races including touring car,
motorcycle and formula car, and how they zoom
around the Guia Circuit. The souvenir sheet
makes use of the racing flag and the stamp in
circular shape to interpret the important
milestone of the “70th”
anniversary. The circular stamp shows the
antique racing car in 1954 and the modern
Formula 3, representing the contrast between
past and present, as well as the evolution of
the Macau Grand Prix.
