Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue the stamp theme “25^th Anniversary of the People’s Liberation Army Garrison Stationed in Macao” on 20^th December, 2024.

Since 20^th December, 1999, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army has stationed in Macao to perform defence duties in accordance with the law. The Macao Garrison servicemembers have worked hard in Macao, together with the Macao compatriots, to embark on a journey towards glory. With the assistance of the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region, all sectors of society and Macao compatriots, the Macao Garrison servicemen have taken the initiatives to participate in public welfare activities, such as voluntary tree planting, voluntary blood donation, charity donations, and caring for the elderly and the young. These activities have contributed to Macao’s social undertakings to the best of its ability.

This issue includes a set of six stamps and one souvenir sheet. The six stamps use three bright colours as the background, organized in groups of two and connected with the Army’s Military Flag. They depict the drills, flag raising, flag bearer training, participation in public welfare activities and other daily routines of the Garrison stationed in Macao. The stamps also include images of iconic buildings in Macao, such as the Ruins of Saint Paul’s, the Holy House of Mercy Headquarters Building, the Church of S. Domingos and the Macao Garrison Building. The souvenir sheet combines the design elements of the six stamps to convey the positive image of the Macao Garrison as “powerful, civilized, having the love of Macao and the common touch”. The stamp in the souvenir sheet incorporates the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge as the background, symbolizing Macao’s active participation into the development of the Greater Bay Area with the support of the Motherland.

The above issue will be available for sale at the General Post Office (9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m.), and the Communications Museum (9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m., 2:30p.m. to 5:30p.m.). The mail service for the philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark of this issue will be available on the issue date at the above locations.
