STAMP ISSUE “LUNAR YEAR OF THE OX”
Macao Post will issue the second issue of the third series of Chinese Zodiac philatelic products, the stamp issue “Lunar Year of the Ox” on 8th January, 2009. The conceptual design of the third series is continuing to express the “Five Elements” of “Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth”, and adopted the “Heavenly Stems” calculation method to figure out the nature of the “Five Elements”. This year, the ox’s nature from the “Five Elements” is “Earth Ox”, so it becomes the main character of the five stamps. The “Earth Ox” stamp is applied with emboss printing technique to highlight the teapot image of Lunar animal while the hot foil stamping with holographic and gold are used respectively on the stamp border, the face values and the characters.
The above issue will be available for sale at the Macao Post Headquarters, from 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., the “Rua do Campo” Post Office, from 9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., the Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office and the Airport Post Office, from 10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m, and the Communications Museum, from 9:30a.m. to 5:30p.m. The registered mail service for the above philatelic products will be available on the issue date at the above locations. Commemorative Postmark Cancellation Service of “1st Anniversary of Canon Hongkong Co., Ltd. (Macau branch)”
To celebrate the 1st Anniversary of Canon Hongkong Co., Ltd. (Macau branch) , Macao Post announced that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at
the Philately Shop located at Macao Post Headquarters at 09H00 to 17H30 on 6th February 2009 providing the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the
“1st Anniversary of Canon Hongkong Co., Ltd. (Macau branch)”.
A commemorative envelope will be distributed to public, and various philatelic products will also be available for sale during the above activity.

ANNUAL ALBUM 2008
Macao Post will issue the
Annual Album 2008 on
8th January 2009, it will be available for sale at the Philatelic Shop of Macao Post Headquarters, “Rua do Campo” Post Office, Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office, Airport Post Office, and the Communications Museum. An elegant and protective hard cover is designed together with the application of UV varnish to highlight the teapot image of Lunar animal “Earth Rat”, while the characters are printed with hot foil stamping with gold. The album contains the full collection of 2008 stamps and souvenir sheets, on which the colour stamp images and the technical data are printed on the pages. This Album is priced at
MOP280.00, it is certainly a precious collectable as well as an elegant gift.
Customers can also purchase the empty Annual Album, by which the purchased 2008 Macao’s stamps and souvenir sheets can be protectively organized. Empty Annual Album is priced at MOP80.00.

“Supplements for Philatelic Album of Macao 2008” on
8 January 2009, it will be available for sale at the Macao Post Headquarters and the Communications Museum. The album pages are pre-printed with all the stamps’ images of 2008. Your collections of stamps and souvenir sheets of 2008 can be put into the pre-printed pages for convenient storage.
