STAMP ISSUE “CENTENARY OF XINHAI REVOLUTION”

Xinhai Revolution was overthrown the Qing Dynasty rule in China, it brought an end to the Autocratic Monarchy System for more than two thousand years, and also represented the birth of first democratic republic. This year marks the Centenary of Xinhai Revolution, Macao Post, China Post and Hongkong Post are jointly issue this stamp theme on 10th October, 2011. This is the eighth joint issue of the three postal administrations after the year of 2009. With a set of four Macao’s stamps and one souvenir sheet, the themes on the four stamps are indicated the phases of the revolution, from “Revolutionary Preparation”, “Permanent Heroism”, “Wuchang Uprising” until “Foundation of the Republic of China”. The theme on the souvenir sheet is “Recovery of China”, it illustrated the inauguration of Sun Yat-sen as Provisional President during 1912.

The above issue will be available for sale at the Macao Post Headquarters, from 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., the “Rua do Campo” Post Office, from 9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., the Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office and the Airport Post Office, from 10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., and the Communications Museum, from 9:30a.m. to 5:30p.m. The registered mail service for the above philatelic products will be available on the issue date at the above locations. Among the total printing quantity of souvenir sheet, 980,000 sheets are transformed as Prestige Stamp Booklet jointly issued by China Post, Hongkong Post and Macao Post. These souvenir sheets issued by the three postal administrations under this stamp theme are presented in booklet format of se-tenant style, the face value for the three souvenir sheets are as: RMB6.00, HKD10.00 and MOP10.00 respectively. Among the total printing quantity of 980,000 booklets, the total of 100,000 booklets to be sold in Macao are numbered with the code “C” representing Macao, this booklet is priced at 36.00 patacas each.

Due to the limited quantity, the sales-quota per queuing customer on the issue date is 5 booklets. The First Day Cover and Information Brochure (without souvenir sheets) will be available for sale on the issue date; customers can produce the philatelic products by affixing the Macao souvenir sheet from the booklet with the issue postmark for your collection or mail to your beloved friends and relatives.

The stamp designer of this issue is Mr. Wong Leung Chung, and the text of the information brochure is written by Mr. Yin Degang.

This is the ninth issue in 2011. The previous issued stamps are “Lunar Year of the Rabbit” on 05/01/2011, “Mainland Scenery IV” on 01/03/201, “Public Buildings and Monuments” on 19/04/2011, “Cantonese Naamyam” on 30/05/2011, “Legends and Myths IX – The Legend of the White Snake” on 28/07/2011 and “50th Anniversary of WWF”on 11/09/2011. The stamps “25th Macao International Music Festival” and “Historic Figures and Macao” to be issued on 09/10/2011.

Commemorative Postmark Cancellation Service of “Open Day of Government Headquarters of the MSAR”

To celebrate the Open Day of Government Headquarters of the MSAR, Macao Post announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up in front of Government Headquarters, Avenida Doutor Stanley Ho, at 9H00 to 18H00 on 22nd to 23rd October 2011 providing the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “Open Day of Government Headquarters of the MSAR”.

     

     

A set of commemorative envelope and postcard presented in an exquisite cover priced at MOP8.00 will be issued. The above commemorative envelope will also be available for individual sale at MOP2.50. During the above activity, various philatelic products will also be available for customer’s selection.

Commemorative Postmark Cancellation Service of “16th Macao International Trade & Investment Fair”

To celebrate the 16th Macao International Trade & Investment Fair, Macao Post announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up
    at Venetian Macao Convention & Exhibition Center, on 20th to 23rd October 2011, providing the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “16th Macao International Trade & Investment Fair”.

         

    A commemorative envelope priced at MOP2.50 will be issued, and various philatelic products will also be available for sale during the above activity. The service hours are as following:
