STAMP ISSUE “LUNAR YEAR OF THE DOG”
Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will release the eleventh issue of the third series of Chinese Zodiac philatelic products with the stamp theme “
Lunar Year of the Dog” on the
5th January, 2018. The conceptual design of the stamp is combined with the different forms of the dog and the distinguishing characteristics of “Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth”. The year of dog, the dog’s nature from the “Five Elements” is “Earth Dog”, so it becomes the main character of the five stamps.
The “Earth Dog” stamp is applied with emboss printing technique together with symphony holographic to highlight the teapot image of Lunar animal. In the souvenir sheet, the couplets represent that the year of the Dog will bring harmony and stability; together with the unique design of the 12 zodiac animals, which is used the vivid colours on a black background.
The above issue will be available for sale at the General Post Office and the Communications Museum, from 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., the “Rua do Campo” Post Office, from 9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., the Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office and the Airport Post Office, from 11:00a.m. to 6:00p.m. The mail service for the relative philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark will be available on the issue date at the above locations.
