STAMP ISSUE “FISHING HARBOUR IN THE PAST”
Fishery is a traditional industry in Macao. Most fishing harbours in Macao are located in the Inner Harbour, it has long been an ideal typhoon shelter for fishermen because of its tranquil water and broad harbour surface. Today, Macao has developed into an international metropolis, although the fishery is never as prosperous as before, the prosperous scene of hundreds of large and small fishing boats gathered in the Inner Harbour still remains in the memory of many people.
Macao Post will issue the stamp theme “
Fishing Harbour in the Past” on
18th May, 2012. This issue includes a set of four Stamps and one souvenir sheet. The paintings created in the 90’s by the Macao painter
Mr. Chio Sio Chi are selected for the stamp designs, the image depicted the ferries, the harbour festivities, the ways of life on boats and the activities in the Inner Harbour, it reminds us the memory of the past.
The above issue will be available for sale at the Macao Post Headquarters, from 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., the “Rua do Campo” Post Office, from 9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., the Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office and the Airport Post Office, from 10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., and the Communications Museum, from 9:30a.m. to 5:30p.m. The mail service for the relative philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark will be available on the issue date at the above locations. This is the fifth issue in 2012. The previous issued stamps are “Lunar Year of the Dragon” on 05/01/2012, “A New Era of Smoke-free Macao” on 31/01/2012, “I Ching, Pa Kua VIII” on 01/03/2012 and “70th Anniversary of Tai Fung Bank” on 28/03/2012.

The launching of the eighth issue of “I Ching, Pa Kua” on 1st March this year, has marked the full release of the series “I Ching, Pa Kua” by Macao Post over eight different years. Macao Post has complied these series of stamps and souvenir sheets in two thematic packs, offering another option for the collectors and those interested in Chinese culture to enrich their collections.
The series of “I Ching, Pa Kua” designed by the famous Chinese calligrapher and painter, the Chairman of Association of I Ching Investigation, Mr. Chan Chi Vai, has shown the 64 hexagrams on each stamps individually. The thematic pack of Stamps collects a series of eight sets containing 64 stamps is priced at MOP180.00 and the thematic pack of Souvenir Sheets collects eight souvenir sheets is priced at MOP120.00.
 
These two thematic packs will be available for sale at the Philatelic Shop of Macao Post Headquarters, Rua do Campo Post Office, Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office, Airport Post Office, and the Communications Museum starting from 18th May, 2012. Get the opportunity to add value to your collection.

at the Shop of Communications Museum and the Tap Seac Plaza, on 4th to 18th May 2012 to provide the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “
International Museum Day – 35th Anniversary of International Museum Day, Macao 2012”.
