STAMP ISSUE “135^th ANNIVERSARY OF MACAO POST AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS”

Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau has a long history. Despite the test of time and the vicissitudes of different years in Macao, it has been able to forge ahead and face up to various challenges. On the occasion of the 135^th anniversary, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue the stamp theme “135^th Anniversary of Macao Post and Telecommunications” on 1^st March, 2019.

From 2017, telecommunications management has been under the administration of Macao Post and renamed as Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau. The CTT Macao offers services and functionalities that are in demand including traditional postal service, postal savings service, telecommunications regulator, E-Business and the Communications Museum.

This issue includes a set of two stamps and one souvenir sheet, the image illustrates with architecture painting of the Macao Post and Telecommunications Headquarters’ Building. The image on the souvenir sheet is the first of CTT Macao applied with intaglio printing technique, to highlight the fine lines of CTT Macao’s Building, with an elegant touch and uneven texture.

The above issue will be available for sale at the General Post Office and the Communications Museum, from 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., the “Rua do Campo” Post Office, from 9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., the Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office, from 11:00a.m. to 6:00p.m., and the Airport Post Office, from 10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m. The mail service for the relative philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark will be available on the issue date at the above locations. The stamp designer of this issue is Mr. Carlos Marreiros, who is the famous architect and painter, and the text of the information brochure is written by the Director of Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau, Ms. Lau Wai Meng.

This is the second theme in 2019. The previous issued stamps are “Lunar Year of the Pig” on 05/01/2019, and the label stamp “Lunar Year of the Pig” on 10/01/2019.
