STAMP ISSUE “MOUNTAINS AND RIVERS OF THE MOTHERLAND – TAISHAN”
Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau issued the stamp themes “Yellow River” and “Yangtze River” under the stamp series of “Mountains and Rivers of the Motherland” in 2015 and 2016. The third series with the stamp theme “Mountains and Rivers of the Motherland – Taishan” will be issued on 9th October, 2019.
The Five Great Mountains are the most recommended among all the famous mountains in China, and Mount Tai (Taishan) ranks the first among them. People are always tightly bound to mountains, this feeling is universe. If there is one mountain that synchronizes with the civilization history of a nation, it is Mount Tai, located in Shandong Province. Mount Tai is one of the first national scenic spots in China, inscribed in 1987 by UNESCO as the World cultural and natural heritage, and is one of the few World cultural and natural heritage.
This issue includes a set of four stamps and one souvenir sheet, the images are illustrated by a famous Macao painter, Sun Jiang Tao, illustrate landscapes and monuments known as “Longevity Bridge”, “Jade Emperor Peak”, “Tiankuang Palace”, “Daguan Peak” and “The Heavenly Southern Gate”.
The above issue will be available for sale at the General Post Office and the Communications Museum, from 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., the “Rua do Campo” Post Office, from 9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., the Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office, from 11:00a.m. to 6:00p.m., and the Airport Post Office, from 10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m. The mail service for the relative philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark will be available on the issue date at the above locations.
