STAMP ISSUE “CENTENARY OF THE FOUNDING OF THE SHENG KUNG HUI CHOI KOU SCHOOL (MACAU)”

Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue the stamp theme “Centenary of the Founding of the Sheng Kung Hui Choi Kou School (Macau)” on 18^th October, 2019, to celebrate the 100^th anniversary of this meaningful date.

Choi Kou School was founded in 1919. The kindergarten, named “Chi To Kindergarten”, was originally initiated by prominent figures and Dr. U Mei Tak, the deacon of the Chi To Church of the Church of Christ in China. It was the first pre-school educational institution in Macao. The mission of Choi Kou School is “Integrity, Perseverance, Love and Frugality; to implement of excellent education, equip students with comprehensive abilities and global vision.” Over the past century, Choi Kou School has witnessed the vicissitudes of Macao, China and the global community. In the present day, Choi Kou School’s alumni are all over the world, among whom many outstanding have contributed a lot to the construction of Macao, China and the international community.

This issue includes a set of three stamps and one souvenir sheet, the images are illustrated the historical items of Choi Kou School, each of which has a special place in the journey over time of this celebrated education institution.

The above issue will be available for sale at the General Post Office and the Communications Museum, from 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., the “Rua do Campo” Post Office, from 9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., the Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office, from 11:00a.m. to 6:00p.m., and the Airport Post Office, from 10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m. The mail service for the relative philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark will be available on the issue date at the above locations. The stamp designer of this issue is Mr. Ng Wai Kin, and the text of the information brochure is written by the Sheng Kung Hui Choi Kou School (Macau).
