Stamp Issue “Chinese Medicine”

Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue the stamp theme “Chinese Medicine” on 3^rd July, 2020. Traditional Chinese medicine is a comprehensive discipline based mainly on the theory and practical experience of Chinese medicine; it studies the changes in the patterns of health and illness in human life and its prevention, diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and health care. Traditional Chinese medicine is the essence of wisdom of the Chinese nation for prevention and treatment of diseases for thousands of years and has made an indelible contribution to the development, prosperity and health of the nation.

This issue includes a set of four stamps and one souvenir sheet, the stamps are forced on the four most characteristic of traditional Chinese medicine: treatments, medication, acupuncture, cupping and massage Tuina. The souvenir sheet is forced on the diagnosis of Chinese medicine. In a clinical environment, Chinese medicine uses the “four fundamental methods of diagnosis”, namely “observation, auscultation and olfaction, inquiry, and pulse feeling and palpation”, to analyse and summarise the patient’s condition information. The diagnosis and treatment of Chinese medicine is the reflection of the comprehensive application of the traditional Chinese medicine system “principles, methods, formulas and medicinals” in clinical practice.

The above issue will be available for sale at the General Post Office (9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m.), the Communications Museum (9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m., 2:30p.m. to 5:30p.m.), and the “Rua do Campo” Post Office (9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m.). The mail service for the relative philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark will be available on the issue date at the above locations. The philatelic products are as follows:

The stamp designer of this issue is Mr. Tiago Lei, and the text of the information brochure is written by Mr. Wang Yitao and Mr. Zhao Yonghua.
