Stamp Issue “Fight Against the Epidemic Together”

Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue the stamp theme “Fight Against the Epidemic Together” on 24^th June, 2020, to pay tribute to all anti-epidemic workers around the world, especially the healthcare professionals who are on the front-lines of the fight against the epidemic. This issue includes one stamp and one souvenir sheet.

After an initial outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia in early 2020, the global spread of the novel virus has brought to Macao one of the greatest challenges and trials since its return to the Motherland. In this rigorous trial, the citizens of Macao have made arduous efforts to make their way out of the difficulties in line with their determination to work together. In this respect, all sectors of the community and all citizens have united as one and made the concerted efforts to fight against the virus by actively supporting and cooperating with the Government. In this special period of time, Macao people showing their spirit “Fight against the epidemic together”, have decorated the city with absolutely magnificent scenery and splendid humane warmth.

The above issue will be available for sale at the General Post Office (9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m.), the Communications Museum (9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m., 2:30p.m. to 5:30p.m.), and the “Rua do Campo” Post Office (9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m.). The mail service for the relative philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark will be available on the issue date at the above locations. The philatelic products are as follows:

The stamp is designed by Mr. Sou Farong (adapted by Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau), while the souvenir sheet is designed by Mr. Ao Kuan Kin. The text of the information brochure is written by the Director of Health Bureau, Dr. Lei Chin Ion.

This is the seventh theme of 2020 issues. The previous issued stamps are “Lunar Year of the Rat” on 05/01/2020, “70^th Anniversary of the Macao Federation of Trade Unions” on 20/01/2020, “Gastronomy and Sweets III – Traditional Popular Snacks” on 01/03/2020, “Regional Medicinal Plants II” on 20/04/2020, “70^th Anniversary of the Women’s General Association of Macau” on 21/05/2020, and “Centenary of the Macau Red Cross” on 12/06/2020.
