Macao is a place where Chinese and Western cultures meet, since its foundation, the old shops that remain in the streets and lanes of Macao are testimony to the city’s evolution over the centuries, and becoming the image of Macao. Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue the stamp theme “Macao Typical Old Shops” on 11^th June, 2021.

With the support of the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region, the Macau Chain Stores and Franchise Association has set up the “Macao Classic Brand Service Center” to promote the “Macao Classic Brand” rebranding program, which aims to identify old shops with a good reputation that have products, techniques or services passing on from generation to generation and represent distinctive Macao characteristics and cultural heritage, and classify them as “Macao Classic Brand”.

In early 2019, 12 shops were successfully identified as the first group of “Macao Classic Brand”, including: Ourivesaria Chee Lee Yuen, Ng Teng Kei Bakery, Solmar Limited, Lok Kei Food Establishment, Fong Kei Bakery, Tong Iec Pak Fa Fui, Chui Heong Bakery, Mok Yi Kei, Medan Indonesian Food, Seng Kei Pak Chok, China Products Company and Lai Kei Ice Cream.

This issue includes a set of four stamps and one souvenir sheet, illustrated 4 shops as the images, namely: Seng Kei Pak Chok, Tong Iec Pak Fa Fui, Ourivesaria Chee Lee Yuen and Fong Kei Bakery. Besides the above 4 shops, the souvenir sheet also illustrated the 5^th of October Street (Rua de Cinco de Outubro), where are located full of old shops.

The above issue will be available for sale at the General Post Office (9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m.), the Communications Museum (9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m., 2:30p.m. to 5:30p.m.), and the “Rua do Campo” Post Office (9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m.). The mail service for the relative philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark will be available on the issue date at the above locations. The philatelic products are as follows:

The stamp designer of this issue is Mr. Lai Ieng, and the text of the information brochure is written by the Macau Chain Stores and Franchise Association.
