Stamp Issue “Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022”

Beijing will once again usher in a world-renowned Olympic event - the 24th Olympic Winter Games - in 2022 after the successful hosting of the 29th Olympic Summer Games in 2008. This enables Beijing the first “Dual-Olympics” city in the world. Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue the stamp theme “Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022” on 25th January, 2022 in order to transmit and promote the Olympic spirit.
The Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 will be held from 4th to 20th February, 2022. There will be 109 individual events in 7 sports and 15 disciplines and the competitions will be distributed in 3 competition zones: Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou.
This issue includes a set of four stamps and one souvenir sheet. The themes include figure skating, snowboard, ice hockey, alpine skiing and short track speed skating, showcasing the speed and agility of the athletes. It is the first time that CTT Macao has applied an incomplete perforation on the circular stamp in the souvenir sheet, highlighting the speed and passion of short track speed skater and breaking the conventional limitations of stamps.
The above issue will be available for sale at the General Post Office (9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m.), the Communications Museum (9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m., 2:30p.m. to 5:30p.m.), and the “Rua do Campo” Post Office (9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m.). The mail service for the philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark of this issue will be available on the issue date at the above locations. Besides the above philatelic products, the presentation pack with the theme “Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022” will also be released. This pack contains one set of four stamps, one souvenir sheet, one first day cover with stamps and one first day cover with souvenir sheet. It is priced at MOP130.00.
The stamp designer of this issue is Mr. Wang Huming, and the text of the information brochure is written by the Sports and Olympic Committee of Macau, China.
