STAMP ISSUE “20TH MACAU INTERNATIONAL FIREWORKS DISPLAY CONTEST”

In celebration of the Macau International Fireworks Display Contest organized by the Macau Government Tourist Office, Macao Post will issue the stamp issue “20th Macau International Fireworks Display Contest” on 1st October, 2008, in commemorating this international great event. The four stamps are applied with varnish printing technique to highlight the glamorous firework images; the same printing technique is also applied for composing the wonderful music.

The above issue will be available for sale at the Macao Post Headquarters, from 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., and the Communications Museum, from 9:30a.m. to 5:30p.m. The registered mail service for the above philatelic products will be available on the issue date at the above locations. The philatelic products are as follows:

Besides the above philatelic products, the thematic pack with the theme “20th Macau International Fireworks Display Contest” will also be released. This pack comprises four stamps and one souvenir sheet for the above issue, and also the four stamps and one souvenir sheet of “Macau International Fireworks Display Contest” issued on 02/09/2004, this pack is priced at MOP68.00.

The stamp designer for this issue is Ms. Anita, Fung Pou Chu, and the text for the information brochure is written by the Macau Government Tourist Office.

This is the eighth issue in 2008. The issued stamps are as “Lunar Year of the Rat” on 23/01/2008; “I Ching, Pa Kua VI” on 01/03/2008; “Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay” on 03/05/2008; “Legends and Myths VIII” on 02/06/2008; “Local Delights” on 04/07/2008; “World Heritage” on 31/07/2008 and “The Opening of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games” on 08/08/2008.

Commemorative Postmark Cancellation Service of “Macau Open Badminton Championships 2008”

To commemorate the Macau Open Badminton Championships 2008, Macao Post announced that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion at 14H00 to 18H00 during 30th September to 5th October 2008 providing the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “Macau Open Badminton Championships 2008”.

A commemorative envelope will be distributed to public, and various philatelic products will also be available for sale during the above activity.

Commemorative Postmark Cancellation Service of “Celebration of the 59th Anniversary of the Establishment of the People’s Republic of China”

To celebrate the 59th Anniversary of the Establishment of the People’s Republic of China, Macao Post announced that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at the Macao Post Headquarters at 9H00 to 17H30 on 1st October 2008 providing the commemorative cancellation service for the “Celebration of the 59th Anniversary of the Establishment of the People’s Republic of China”.

A commemorative envelope priced at MOP2.00 will be issued, together with the various philatelic products available for sale during the above activity.
