STAMP ISSUE “LUNAR YEAR OF THE TIGER”
Macao Post will issue the third issue of the third series of Chinese Zodiac philatelic products with the stamp theme
“Lunar Year of the Tiger” on
2nd January, 2010. The third series continue to use the conceptual design of the previous two stamps, Lunar Year of the Rat and the Ox, to combine the different forms of the Tiger and the distinguishing characteristics of “Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth” on to the stamps. This year, the tiger’s nature from the “Five Elements” is “Metal Tiger”, so it becomes the main character of the five stamps. The “Metal Tiger” stamp is applied with emboss printing technique to highlight the image of intrepid tiger while the hot foil stamping with holographic and gold are used respectively on the cloud patterns, the face values and the characters.
The above issue will be available for sale at the Macao Post Headquarters, from 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., the Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office and the Airport Post Office, from 10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., and the Communications Museum, from 9:30a.m. to 5:30p.m. The registered mail service for the above philatelic products will be available on the issue date at the above locations. ANNUAL ALBUM 2009
Macao Post will issue the
Annual Album 2009 on
9th February 2010, it will be available for sale at the Philatelic Shop of Macao Post Headquarters, “Rua do Campo” Post Office, Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office, Airport Post Office, and the Communications Museum. An elegant and protective hard cover is designed. This album comprises the full collection of 2009 stamps and souvenir sheets, and also includes one self-adhesive stamp booklet, on which the colour stamp images and the technical data are printed on the pages. This Album is priced at
MOP298.00, it is certainly an excellent product, either as a collectable or as an elegant gift.
Customers can also purchase the empty Annual Album, by which the purchased 2009 Macao’s stamps and souvenir sheets can be protectively organized. Empty Annual Album is priced at MOP80.00.
SUPPLEMENTS FOR PHILATELIC ALBUM OF MACAO 2009
Macao Post will release the “
Supplements for Philatelic Album of Macao 2009” on
5th February 2010, it will be available for sale at the Macao Post Headquarters and the Communications Museum. The album pages are pre-printed with all the stamps’ images of 2009. Your collections of stamps and souvenir sheets of 2009 can be put into the pre-printed pages for convenient storage.
The selling price of Supplements for Philatelic Album of Macao 2009 is
MOP200.00.
Results of Stamps Design Contest
The results of Stamps Design Contest "
Expo 2010 Shanghai China", organized by Macao Post and Office for Preparation of Macao’s Participation in the Shanghai World Expo, co-organized by Macau Artist Society and Macao Polytechnic Institute School of Arts, has reached its final stage. The judging panel formed by Mr. Lai Ieng - The President of Macau Artist Society, Ms. Anita Fung - The representative of Macao Polytechinc Institute School of Arts, Ms. Christina Ieong - Director of Office for Preparation of Macao's Participation in the Shanghai World Expo, Ms. Derby Lau - Director of Macao Post.
The winning entry will be issued as stamps, souvenir sheet and postcards. The Prize Presentation Ceremony will be held at the "126th Anniversary of Macao Post" on 1st March 2010 at the Communications Museum. The following is the Awards List:

REPRINT LABEL STAMP "WORLD HERITAGE"
The Macao Post announced that 8 automatic stamp vending machines located at different areas in Macao (please refer to
appendix for details) will be started using the reprint label stamp "
World Heritage" from
9:00a.m. on 22nd February, 2010.
The mentioned automatic stamp vending machines will be gradually installed the reprint label stamp from 4:30p.m. on 21st February, 2010. The relevant machines will be temporarily suspending the service. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
The label stamp "
World Heritage" was issued on 31st July, 2008. The reprint label stamp maintains the original design, but with the wording (REIMP 2009) indicating the reprint year at the bottom of the empty selvage.
