STAMP ISSUE “EXPO 2010 SHANGHAI CHINA”

In celebration of the World Exposition Shanghai China 2010 to be held in Shanghai, China from May 1 to October 31, 2010, Macao Post will issue the stamp theme “EXPO 2010 SHANGHAI CHINA” on the opening day at 1st May, 2010. This issue includes a set of two stamps and a souvenir sheet, and the Macao’s first issue of block of 4 souvenir sheets. The stamp design is selected from the winning entry of the Stamp Design Contest with the same theme jointly organized by the Macao Post and the Office for Preparation of Macao’s Participation in the Shanghai World Expo. The stamps show the “Macau Pavilion - Jade Rabbit the Imperial Lantern” which is erected inside the China Pavilion Zone, and the replica of Pawnshop “Tak Seng On” which is built in the Expo’s Urban Best Practices Area.

The above issue will be available for sale at the Macao Post Headquarters, from 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., and the Communications Museum, from 9:30a.m. to 5:30p.m. The registered mail service for the above philatelic products will be available on the issue date at the above locations. Among the total printing quantity of souvenir sheet, 320,000 sheets are printed as 80,000 sheets of Block of 4 Souvenir Sheets, and priced at 40.00 patacas per sheet. Due to the limited quantity, the sales quota for the block of 4 souvenir sheets per queuing customer on the issue date is ten sheets.

The stamp designer of this issue is Ms. Chio Ut Sim, and the text for the information brochure is written by the Director of the Office for Preparation of Macao’s Participation in the Shanghai World Expo, Ms. Christiana P. Y. Ieong.

This is the fourth issue in 2010. The previous issued stamps are “Lunar Year of the Tiger” on 02/01/2010, “I Ching, Pa Kua VII” on 01/03/2010 and “Centenary of International Women’s Day” on 08/03/2010.

Commemorative Envelope of “London 2010 International Stamp Exhibition”

Macao Post will participate the “London 2010 International Stamp Exhibition”, located at London, England, during 8th to 15th May 2010. To commemorate this Exhibition, Macao Post issues the commemorative envelopes and provides the commemorative postmark cancellation service on site of the exhibition.

Be convenience to the philatelist, the commemorative envelope with stamp priced at MOP4.00 will also be available for sale at the Philately Shop of Macao Post Headquarters starting from 8th May.

Commemorative Postmark Cancellation Service of “International Museum Day, Macao 2010”

To celebrate the International Museum Day, Macao 2010, Macao Post announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at Tap Seac Plaza from 14:00 to 18:00 on 9th May 2010 to provide the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “International Museum Day, Macao 2010”.

     

A commemorative envelope will be distributed to public, and various philatelic products will also be available for sale during the above activity.

Commemorative Postmark Cancellation Service of “60th Anniversary of the Women’s General Association of Macau”

To celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Women’s General Association of Macau, Macao Post announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at Service Center of the Women’s General Association of Macau, Barca Street no.27, from 10:00 to 14:00 on 28th May 2010 to provide the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “60th Anniversary of the Women’s General Association of Macau”.

      


A commemorative envelope will be distributed to public, and various philatelic products will also be available for sale during the above activity.

Commemorative Postmark Cancellation Service of “20th Anniversary of Macao SAR Government Consumer Council”

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Macao SAR Government Consumer Council, Macao Post announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at Philately Shop of Macao Post Headquarters from 12:00 to 15:00 on 13th June 2010 to provide the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “20th Anniversary of Macao SAR Government Consumer Council”.

     


The distribution quota of the commemorative envelope will be five per person, and various philatelic products will also be available for sale during the above activity.
