STAMP ISSUE "WOODCARVING – MACAO RELIGIOUS FIGURE CARVING"
The religious figure carving is one of the oldest traditional industries in Macao, with more than 100 years history. In order to protect this excellent local manual skill, the “
Woodcarving – Macao Religious Figure Carving” was included in the second National Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2008 upon application by the Macao SAR government. Macao Post will issue this stamp theme on
7th September, 2010. This issue includes a set of four stamps and one souvenir sheet, the religious figures selected for the stamps are “Buddha”, “Na Tcha”, “Kun Iam” and “Tin Hau”. The souvenir sheet shows “The Eight Immortals”.
The above issue will be available for sale at the Macao Post Headquarters, from 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., the “Rua do Campo” Post Office, from 9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., the Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office and the Airport Post Office, from 10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., and the Communications Museum, from 9:30a.m. to 5:30p.m. The registered mail service for the above philatelic products will be available on the issue date at the above locations. The stamp designer of this issue is
Ms. Anita, Fung Pou Chu, and the text of the information brochure is written by
Mr. Chan Ieng Hin.
This is the eighth issue in 2010. MOP2.50 will be issued, and various philatelic products will also be available for sale during the above activity.

Commemorative Envelope of“Portugal 2010 World Philatelic Exhibition”
Macao Post will participate the “Portugal 2010 World Philatelic Exhibition”, located at Lisbon, Portugal, during 1st to 10th October 2010. To commemorate this Exhibition, Macao Post issues the commemorative envelopes and provides the commemorative postmark cancellation service on site of the exhibition.
Be convenience to the philatelist, the commemorative envelope with stamp priced at
MOP4.00 will also be available for sale at the Philatelic Shop of Macao Post Headquarters starting from
1st October.
