STAMP ISSUE “MAINLAND SCENERY IV”

Macao Post issued three series of souvenir sheet “Mainland Scenery” between 2007 and 2009. The fourth series will be released on 1st March, 2011. This series presents the Fenghuang Ancient City which is situated within the Fenghuang County, in the Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Hunan Province. Adjacent to the Tuojiang River and surrounded by mountains, Fenghuang is a historic old city where the streets are paved with granite slabs and the houses are built on stilts along the banks of river. It was inscribed by the State Council as one of the National Historical Old City in 2001, and also classified as the National 4A Grade Scenic Spot during 2008. The landscape shown on this souvenir sheet is the unique wooden houses on stilts (Diaojiao Lou) while the snow scene shown on the first day cover reveals the ancient city in another season.

The above issue will be available for sale at the Macao Post Headquarters, from 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., the “Rua do Campo” Post Office, from 9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., the Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office and the Airport Post Office, from 10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., and the Communications Museum, from 9:30a.m. to 5:30p.m. The registered mail service for the above philatelic products will be available on the issue date at the above locations. The image captured for this souvenir sheet and the text for the information brochure are came from the veteran photographer of Macao Mr. Lou Kam Ieng. The composition of this souvenir sheet is designed by Macao Post.

This is the second issue in 2011. The previous issued stamp is “Lunar Year of the Rabbit” on 05/01/2011.

To celebrate the 80th Anniversary of Foundation of St. Joseph Diocesan College of Macau, Macao Post announced that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at the Grand Hall of St. Joseph Diocesan College, 2nd/3rd School, at Travessa dos Anjos No.43, from 11:30 to 17:00 on 19th March 2011 to provide the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “80th Anniversary of Foundation of St. Joseph Diocesan College, Macau”.

Commemorative Postmark Cancellation Service of “World Forest Day”

To celebrate the World Forest Day, Macao Post announced that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at Senado Square, at 9:00 to 18:00 on 21st March 2011 providing the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “World Forest Day”.

       

A commemorative envelope will be distributed to public, and various philatelic products will also be available for sale during the above activity.

Besides, Macao Post will distribute the above-mentioned envelope on 8th to 20th March at Macao Post Headquarters and all post offices.

ANNUAL ALBUM 2010

Macao Post will issue the Annual Album 2010 on 27th January 2011, it will be available for sale at the Philatelic Shop of Macao Post Headquarters, “Rua do Campo” Post Office, Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office, Airport Post Office, and the Communications Museum. An exquisite protective hard cover design printed with the skin pattern of tiger on the golden paper brings a sense of wild with elegance. This album comprises the full collection of 2010 stamps and souvenir sheets, on which the colour stamp images and the technical data are printed on the pages. This Album is priced at MOP318.00, it is certainly an excellent product, either as a collectable or as an elegant gift.



Customers can also purchase the empty Annual Album, by which the purchased 2010 Macao’s stamps and souvenir sheets can be protectively organized. Empty Annual Album is priced at MOP90.00.
