STAMP ISSUE “ORBIS – 30 YEARS OF SAVING SIGHT”

In tribute to the 30th anniversary of ORBIS’ sight-saving work, Macao Post will issue the Macao first semi-postal stamps with the theme of “ORBIS – 30 Years of Saving Sight” on 9th October, 2012, aiming to raise public awareness on the global blindness problem, the hardship suffered by the visually impaired and the importance of healthy eye-sight. This issue includes a set of two semi-postal stamps, the stamps are printed with the postal value and the surcharge respectively. The surcharge of the stamps sold will be offered to ORBIS Macau in support to their action of saving sight. It is of great significance of collecting these valuable commemorative stamps, as you can save the vision of many visually impaired.

The above issue will be available for sale at the Macao Post Headquarters, from 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., the “Rua do Campo” Post Office, from 9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., the Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office and the Airport Post Office, from 10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., and the Communications Museum, from 9:30a.m. to 5:30p.m. The mail service for the relative philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark will be available on the issue date at the above locations. This issue will be available for sale starting from 9th October 2012 until 8th April 2013 while stock lasts.

The stamp designer of this issue is Mr. Ao Kuan Kin, and the text of the information brochure is written by ORBIS Macau.

This is the twelfth issue in 2012. Commemorative Postmark Cancellation Service of “Open Day of Government Headquarters of the MSAR”

To celebrate the Open Day of Government Headquarters of the MSAR, Macao Post announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up in front of Government Headquarters, Avenida Doutor Stanley Ho, at 9H00 to 18H00 on 20th to 21st October 2012 providing the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “Open Day of Government Headquarters of the MSAR”.

A set of commemorative envelope and postcard presented in an exquisite cover priced at MOP10.00 will be issued. The above commemorative envelope will also be available for individual sale at MOP2.50. During the above activity, various philatelic products will also be available for customer’s selection.

Macao Post will participate the “Beijing International Stamp & Coin Expo. 2012”, located at Beijing, China, during 2nd to 4th November, 2012. To commemorate this Exhibition, Macao Post issues the commemorative envelopes and provides the commemorative postmark cancellation service on site of the exhibition.

Be convenience to the philatelist, the commemorative envelope with stamp priced at MOP4.00 will also be available for sale at the Philatelic Shop of Macao Post Headquarters starting from 3rd November.

To celebrate the 59th Macau Grand Prix, Macao Post announced that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up behind the Lisboa Stand (Restriction area for ticket entry) and the Philatelic Shop of Macao Post Headquarters on 17th and 18th November 2012, providing the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “59th Macau Grand Prix”.

           



Two designs of commemorative envelopes priced at MOP2.50 for each will be issued, and various philatelic products will be available for sale during the above activity. The service hours are as following:
