STAMP ISSUE “30^th MACAO ARTS FESTIVAL”

This year marks the 30^th anniversary of the Macao Arts Festival. Over the past 30 years, many classic works have been brought to the stage of the Macao Arts Festival, jointly shaping the cultural image of the city.

To celebrate its anniversary, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue the stamp theme “30^th Macao Arts Festival” on 3^rd May, 2019.

This issue includes a set of four stamps and one souvenir sheet. Illustrations representative of the different stages of the festival were selected for the design of the four stamps, giving a motto to the theme of the 2019 edition – “a tribute to the classics” – and highlighting special moments of this event. The graphic image of this year’s festival edition, bubbles in motion, was adopted into the design of the souvenir sheet, lending a rhythmic sense and suggesting the number 30, the total of years this festival completes.

The above issue will be available for sale at the General Post Office and the Communications Museum, from 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., the “Rua do Campo” Post Office, from 9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., the Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office, from 11:00a.m. to 6:00p.m., the Airport Post Office, from 10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m. and the foyer of the Macao Cultural Centre, from 19:00p.m. to 22:00p.m. The mail service for the relative philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark will be available on the issue date at the above locations. The design of this stamp issue and the text of the information brochure are responsible by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government.

This is the fourth theme in 2019. The previous issued stamps are “Lunar Year of the Pig” on 05/01/2019, the label stamp “Lunar Year of the Pig” on 10/01/2019, “135^th Anniversary of Macao Post and Telecommunications” on 01/03/2019, and “Festivals – Feast of Kun Iam” on 25/03/2019.
