STAMP ISSUE “30^TH MACAO INTERNATIONAL FIREWORKS DISPLAY CONTEST”

The Macao International Fireworks Display Contest, which is not only one of the most important international events in Macao, but also one of the most important international fireworks displays in the world. Over the years, more than 100 outstanding teams from different countries and regions of the world have participated in this contest.

To mark the thirtieth anniversary of this year, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue the stamp theme “30^th Macao International Fireworks Display Contest” on 30^th August, 2019. This issue includes a set of four stamps and one souvenir sheet.

This year, the Macao International Fireworks Display Contest will be staged above the sea area overlooked by Macau Tower on 7^th, 13^th, 21^st and 28^th September and 1^st and 5^th October. During the end of summer and the beginning of autumn, the night sky of Macao is aglow in a starburst of magnificent fireworks, illuminating the night sky of Macao and reaching the hearts of people. The Fireworks Display Contest is staged in the period of the Mid-Autumn Festival and the day of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China, this marvelous fireworks displays add a joyous atmosphere to holiday and festival. The Fireworks Display Contest has become an annual must-see in Macao, with numerous spectators specially choosing this time of the year to visit for an exotic and romantic break.

The above issue will be available for sale at the General Post Office and the Communications Museum, from 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., the “Rua do Campo” Post Office, from 9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., the Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office, from 11:00a.m. to 6:00p.m., and the Airport Post Office, from 10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m. The mail service for the relative philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark will be available on the issue date at the above locations. The stamp designer of this issue is Ms. Anita, Fung Pou Chu, and the text of the information brochure is written by the Macao Government Tourism Office.
