STAMP ISSUE “GUANGDONG-HONG KONG-MACAO GREATER BAY AREA”
Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will launch two issues with the stamp theme “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” on 26th September, 2019, to mark the country promulgated the “Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” (“Outline Development Plan”) on 18th February, 2019, which marked the official opening of the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The development of the Greater Bay Area will further take forward the practice of “One Country, Two Systems”, support the integration of Hong Kong and Macao into the development of the country, enhance the well-being of Hong Kong and Macao compatriots and maintain the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong and Macao.
The “Outline Development Plan” has further clarified Macao’s development orientation as “One Centre” and “One Platform”, and also has entrusted Macao with four new tasks and missions, they are not only the high trust and expectations of the country concerning Macao, but also the golden opportunity for Macao’s development.
The first set includes a set of four stamps and one souvenir sheet, the stamps illustrate the iconic landmarks of the four core cities in Greater Bay Area, includes: Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Macao Special Administrative Region, Guangzhou and Shenzhen in Guangdong Province. The stamp in the souvenir sheet is illustrated the iconic landmarks of the two Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macao, while the iconic landmarks of the nine municipalities are showcased on the periphery, includes: Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing in Guangdong Province.
The second set is the fourth issue of definitive label stamp after the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region. The main design of this label stamp is illustrated the Macao’s most iconic monument “The Ruins of St. Paul’s”, while the silhouette technique is used to illustrate the landmarks of the remaining 10 Greater Bay cities.
The stamp designer of this issue is Mr. Ao Kuan Kin, and the text of the information brochure is written by the Policy Research and Regional Development Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government.
This is the tenth theme in 2019. The previous issued stamps are “Lunar Year of the Pig” on 05/01/2019, the label stamp “Lunar Year of the Pig” on 10/01/2019, “135th Anniversary of Macao Post and Telecommunications” on 01/03/2019, “Festivals – Feast of Kun Iam” on 25/03/2019, “30th Macao Arts Festival” on 03/05/2019, “450th Anniversary of Macau Holy House of Mercy” on 15/05/2019, “Macao Lotus” on 03/06/2019, “Macao: Back to Common Roots II” on 26/07/2019, “30th Macao International Fireworks Display Contest” on 30/08/2019, and “Court Buildings” on 13/09/2019.
The above two issues will be available for sale at the General Post Office and the Communications Museum, from 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., the “Rua do Campo” Post Office, from 9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., the Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office, from 11:00a.m. to 6:00p.m., and the Airport Post Office, from 10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m. The mail service for the relative philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark will be available on the issue date at the above locations. On the issue date, the maximum sales quota per queuing customer is 20 sets of label stamps, 5 first day covers with label stamps and 5 information brochures with label stamps.
Arrangement of automatic stamp vending machines
The following designated automatic stamp vending machines will have a temporary arrangement; the maximum time limit for using the vending machine is 5 minutes for each queuing customer.
