Stamp Issue “Libraries in Macao II”

The libraries in Macao are small but beautiful and they are usually featured with long histories. Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue the stamp theme “Libraries in Macao II” on 23^rd April, 2021 (the World Book Day), this is the second issue of the same series after issued in 2005.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau has managed a total of 18 libraries, which are located in the World Heritage sites, parks, markets, squares, and waterfront etc. These libraries, like the learning oasis in such a busy city, not only let the readers enjoy the pleasure of reading but also lift up their spirit, because most of the library designs are integrated with nature and the surrounding environment.

The stamp issue “Libraries in Macao II” leads us to visit five distinctive libraries. The stamps are illustrated four libraries, included: Wong Ieng Kuan Library in Luís de Camões Garden, Patane Library, Taipa Library and Seac Pai Van Library. The souvenir sheet is illustrated the Senado Library, which is located in the downtown area and is the one with the longest service history.

The above issue will be available for sale at the General Post Office (9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m.), the Communications Museum (9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m., 2:30p.m. to 5:30p.m.), and the “Rua do Campo” Post Office (9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m.). The mail service for the relative philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark will be available on the issue date at the above locations. The philatelic products are as follows:

The stamp designer of this issue is Mr. Lio Man Cheong, and the text of the information brochure is written by the Director of the Macao Library and Information Management Association, Mr. Wong Kwok Keung, Raymond.

This is the fourth theme of 2021 issues. The previous issued stamps are “Lunar Year of the Ox” on 05/01/2021, the label stamp “Lunar Year of the Ox” on 20/01/2021, “120^th Anniversary of the Printing Bureau” on 22/02/2021, and “Mainland Scenery VIII” on 01/03/2021.
