The stamp issue “Chapas Sínicas (Chinese Documents)”, issued by Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau in 2018 and designed by Mr. Joaquim Cheong Kuok Wai, is granted Special Award in the “2021 German Design Award – Excellent Communications Design, Official Documents Category”.

Every year, the German Design Council invites designers from all over the world to participate in the German Design Award. The purpose for awarding the outstanding design achievements is to show and give recognition to the unique designs, and facilitate the advancement of the industry.  

The stamp issue “Chapas Sínicas (Chinese Documents)” was issued on 6 July 2018 to celebrate the inscription of the collection by UNESCO onto the Asia-Pacific Register of the Memory of the World in 2016 and the Memory of the World Register in 2017.  The 2021 German Design Award is not only an acknowledgement of the design and theme selection of Macao Stamps, but also a big encouragement that motivates us to continue to support the study and promotion of Macao’s history and culture through stamps.
