Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will release the third issue of the fourth series of Chinese Zodiac philatelic products with the stamp theme “Lunar Year of the Tiger” on 5^th January, 2022. There is a saying: “the Buffalo works on the fertile lands and leaves good luck, the Tiger crosses the green mountains and brings fortune”, in Chinese culture, the tiger is always the king in the animal kingdom, reflects the Chinese people’s admiration of the tiger due to its courage and intrepidity.

The conceptual design of the fourth series is based on the four seasons “Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter”. This issue includes a set of four stamps and one souvenir sheet. The stamps depict the majestic white tigers with black stripes, accompanied with yellow flowers, sun, maple leaves or snowflakes, representing spring, summer, fall and winter, respectively. The design of the souvenir sheet highlights the year “2022”, also with the colorful elements of the four seasons. On this occasion when we say goodbye to the old year and welcome the new, these exquisite philatelic products are excellent gifts to send your best wishes for the holidays.

The above issue will be available for sale at the General Post Office (9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m.), the Communications Museum (9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m., 2:30p.m. to 5:30p.m.), and the “Rua do Campo” Post Office (9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m.). The mail service for the relative philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark will be available on the issue date at the above locations. The philatelic products are as follows:

Presentation Pack:

This presentation pack contains one set of four stamps, one souvenir sheet, one first day cover with stamps and one first day cover with souvenir sheet of the same issue, this pack is priced at MOP120.00.

Gift Set of Gaiwan and Stamps:

A prestigious gift box contains one “ceramic” gaiwan of “Lunar Year of the Tiger”, with the theme of summer, and a presentation pack with one set of four stamps, priced at MOP318.00.  It is certainly an excellent product, either as a collectable or as an elegant gift, and it will only be available for sale at the Philatelic Shop of General Post Office. Commemorative Envelope (Joint Issue)

Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau and China National Philatelic Co., Ltd. will jointly issue a commemorative envelope of “Lunar Year of the Tiger” with the printing quantity of 10,500 envelopes, it affixed with one set of four Macao stamps at MOP17.00 of the above issue and one set of two China stamps at RMB2.40 and cancelled with the postmarks of Macao Post and Telecommunications and China Post respectively, the total of 2,500 to be sold in Macao is priced at MOP30.00. 

The stamp designer of this issue is Ms. Yu Si, and the text of the information brochure is written by Mr. Lei Kun Teng.

This is the first theme of 2022 issues.
