Stamp Issue “120
th Anniversary of Banco Nacional Ultramarino”

Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue the stamp theme “120th Anniversary of Banco Nacional Ultramarino” on 20th September, 2022. The reputation of Banco Nacional Ultramarino (BNU) in Macao has been built over the course of a long and illustrious history that began in 1902, when it opened its first branch and became Macao’s first note-issuing bank in 1905. With a broad cultural background and Portuguese legacy, the BNU has succeeded and evolved to become one of the top financial institutions in Macao, providing financial products and high-quality services to both retail and corporate customers.
This issue includes a set of four stamps and one souvenir sheet. The design incorporates BNU’s 120th anniversary logo, and its historical landmark building with bank note symbol patterns and sailing ships. BNU’s corporate red line represents the leading line that travels through time from the seafaring days of the past to the present, and remains at the forefront of innovation to fulfill its mission and serve society.
The above issue will be available for sale at the General Post Office (9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m.), the Communications Museum (9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m., 2:30p.m. to 5:30p.m.), and the “Rua do Campo” Post Office (9:00a.m. to 6:00p.m.). The mail service for the philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark of this issue will be available on the issue date at the above locations. The stamp designer of this issue is Mr. Wilson Chi Ian Lam, and the text of the information brochure is written by the Banco Nacional Ultramarino S.A.
