Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue the stamp theme “Contemporary Buildings” on 28^th October, 2022. Numerous new structures have been constructed as urban development proceeds, reflecting Macau’s modern attributes as well as its economic progress.

This issue includes a set of four stamps and one souvenir sheet, depicting five exemplary new contemporary buildings that were recently completed, which are: Mong-Ha Sports Centre, the venues’ different heights are made used of to form an interlocking shape with numerous blocks stacking on top of one another; Building of Marine and Water Bureau, vertical green walls and green roofs have been added to reinforce the idea of “green architecture”; Qingmao Port, the big glass curtain walls and aluminium trim panels create a neat and straightforward geometric mass; Hengqin Port, the façades are intended to be open, imposing, and solemn gates to welcome locals and guests from both sides; China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Commercial and Trade Service Platform Complex, the main entry façade has a massive canopy that meanders and resembles a phoenix extending its wings, and its ribbon-like appearance alludes to the relationship between Macao and the “Belt and Road Initiative”.

The above issue will be available for sale at the General Post Office (9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m.), the Communications Museum (9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m., 2:30p.m. to 5:30p.m.), and the “Rua do Campo” Post Office (9:00a.m. to 6:00p.m.). The mail service for the philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark of this issue will be available on the issue date at the above locations. The stamp designer of this issue is Mr. Carlos Marreiros, and the text of the information brochure is written by the Architects Association of Macau.
