STAMP ISSUE “130th ANNIVERSARY OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE FIRE BRIGADE”

The Fire Brigade of Macao is approaching its 130th anniversary since its establishment on 2^nd May, 1883, Macao Post will issue the stamp theme “130^th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Fire Brigade” on 25^th April, 2013, recognizing the firefighters sticking to the posts of duty for a long time with the fire-fighting spirit of “Abandoning self for others” to contribute to the prosperity and stability of Macao as well as safeguarding civilians’ lives and property. This issue includes a set of four stamps and one souvenir sheet, illustrating the fire stations and the former and current emergency vehicles, which includes: Central Fire Station and Fire Services Museum / British Style Manual Pump; Taipa Fire Station / British Style Ladder; Areia Preta Fire Station / Aerial Ladder Platform; Headquarters of Fire Brigade & Sai Van Lake Fire Station / High Reach Extendable Turret Stinger; Command Building of Fire Brigade / British Style Steam Pump.

The above issue will be available for sale at the Macao Post Headquarters, from 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., the “Rua do Campo” Post Office, from 9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., the Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office and the Airport Post Office, from 10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., the Communications Museum, from 9:30a.m. to 5:30p.m., and the Fire Services Museum, from 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m. The mail service for the relative philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark will be available on the issue date at the above locations. The design of this stamp issue and the text of the information brochure are responsible by Fire Brigade of the Macao Special Administrative Region. The stamp designer is Chief Cheong Meng.

This is the fifth issue in 2013. The previous issued stamps are “Lunar Year of the Snake” on 03/01/2013, “Centenary of the Macao Chamber of Commerce” on 23/01/2013, “Mainland Scenery V” on 01/03/2013 and “20th Anniversary of the Promulgation of the Basic Law of Macao” on 31/03/2013.
