STAMP ISSUE “LITERATURE AND ITS CHARACTERS – THE ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS II”

Following the first issue "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" of the stamp series Literature and its Characters issued in 2001. Macao Post will release the second issue “Literature and its Characters – The Romance of the Three Kingdoms II” on 13^th September, 2013. “The Romance of the Three Kingdoms” is one of the four great classical novels of Chinese literature, and is also a well-known historical novel. This issue includes a set of four stamps portray the familiar story through the lifelike characters of Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang, Cao Cao and Zhou Yu, the stamp themes include: “Rescue of the Young Prince”, “Control of the Yi Province”, “Drowning of the Seven Armies” and “Zhuge Liang’s Prayer to the Star”. The souvenir sheet “Unification of the Three Kingdoms under Jin Dynasty” expresses the long struggling between the three kingdoms of Wei, Shu and Wu, who were conquered and incorporated into the Jin Kingdom.

The above issue will be available for sale at the Macao Post Headquarters, from 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., the “Rua do Campo” Post Office, from 9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., the Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office and the Airport Post Office, from 10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., and the Communications Museum, from 9:30a.m. to 5:30p.m. The mail service for the relative philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark will be available on the issue date at the above locations. The stamp designer of this issue is Ms. Poon Kam Ling, and the text of the information brochure is written by Ms. Zhou Qiao.
