STAMP ISSUE "CHINESE CALLIGRAPHY AND PAINTING – FAMOUS ARTISTS IN MACAO"
Since 1954, quite a few artists of Macao have begun to make regular gatherings to discuss about art, paint together and hence make friendly connections. These gatherings between calligraphers and painters aim to the artistic development through exchanges and mutual learning and also provided them with a chance to look back on the history, the tradition.
Through the issue of stamps, it is significant not only in illustrating and disseminating art works of Macao, but also in arousing people’s confidence in Chinese culture, especially Macao culture. Macao Post will issue the stamp theme "
Chinese Calligraphy and Painting – Famous Artists in Macao" on
1st November, 2013. This issue includes a set of six stamps and one souvenir sheet, it has recorded seven beautiful works from the artists created in Macao, which includes: "Yu Un", "Literary Meeting in Goi Meng House", "Blessings of Autumn", "Autumn", "Announcement of Spring", "Heroic Kapok" and "Sparrows and Red Leaves".
The above issue will be available for sale at the Macao Post Headquarters, from 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., the "Rua do Campo" Post Office, from 9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., the Maritime Ferry Terminal Post Office and the Airport Post Office, from 10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., and the Communications Museum, from 9:30a.m. to 5:30p.m. The mail service for the relative philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark will be available on the issue date at the above locations. The philatelic products are as follows:
The selling price for one set of six stamps is 12.00 patacas, the first day cover with stamps (FDC) is 17.00 patacas, the first day cover with souvenir sheet (FDC/SS) is 17.00 patacas, the information brochure with stamps is 17.00 patacas and the information brochure with souvenir sheet is 17.00 patacas.
Among the total printing quantity of stamps, 150,000 sets printed on sheetlets of 12 stamps, and 50,000 sets printed on sheetlets of 6 stamps.
Besides the above philatelic products, the
presentation pack with the theme "
Chinese Calligraphy and Painting – Famous Artists in Macao" will also be released. This pack contains one sheetlet of six stamps, one souvenir sheet, one first day cover with stamps and one first day cover with souvenir sheet, it is priced at
MOP120.00 each.
The painting of this stamp issue and the text of the information brochure are responsible by the "Yu Un"
Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association of Macao. The composition of this issue is designed by
Mr. Lok Chong, and the text of the information brochure is written by
Mr. Chan Kai Chon.
This is the twelfth issue in 2013.
