The philatelic products issued by CTT have won many international awards over the years, which fully recognizes the ingenuity and creativity of Macao's philatelic products in terms of theme and design. The award-winning stamps include:

The content of the exhibit is drawn from stamp products issued by Macao Post and Telecommunications from 2020 to 2023. It is divided into three categories: International Focus, Local Characteristics and East and West Encounter, showcasing the rich and diverse themes of Macao stamps.

Stamp Issue “Chapas Sínicas (Chinese Documents)”

Designer: Cultural Affairs Bureau - Joaquim Cheong Kuok Wai / Issue Year: 2018
The "Chapas Sínicas (Chinese Documents)” consists of more than 3,600 documents, including the Macao’s official Chinese letters records during the Qing Dynasty, together with the original Portuguese translations copies and the other documents, which are the local archival documents of Macao during the Qing Dynasty. These documents reflect the situation of Macao at that time, and Macao, as a hub of China's foreign trade and communication, had a special status and role in the world, becoming a center of East-West cultural convergence.

The "Chapas Sínicas" is a treasure of Macao's historical and cultural research, as well as a precious cultural heritage of the world. This issue celebrates the successful inscription of Macao on UNESCO's World Memory Asia-Pacific Directory in 2016 and World Memory Directory in 2017.

The stamps depict the archives of Macao official records during the Qing Dynasty.

Philatelic Issue “Animal Protection”

"Animal Protection” promotes respect for animal rights, protection and care so that they can enjoy respect for their lives and health.

Each of the stamps features a real-life story of abandonment, the background behind the dogs and cats tells the story of their past abandonment, conveying the message of caring for, protecting, rescuing and adopting. The souvenir sheet features a lacquer printed house, emphasizing the importance of providing shelter for pets.

"Legends and Myths X – The Cowherd and the Weaving Maid" – Souvenir Sheet

The story of the Cowherd and the Weaving Maid is one of the four great love legends of China, which first appeared in the Classic of Poetry “Shi Jing”. During the Han Dynasty, people began to create artistic creations from the historical legends, resulting in beautiful and moving mythological stories.

The themes of the stamps are selected from classic episodes of the story, including Treating the Ox”, “Stealing the Weaver’s Clothes”, “The Cowherd Farms and the Weaver Weaves”, “The Weaver is caught”, “Separated by the Milky Wat”, “The Gods Are Touched”. "The souvenir sheet depicts the touching moment when the Cowherd and the Weaving Maid meet on the Magpie Bridge on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month.

"Seng Yu – Idioms III" - Souvenir Sheet

Chinese idioms and idiomatic stories are precious Chinese cultural heritage. They have long been popular and carry the wisdom of thousands of years of Chinese culture. The stories are presented in a simple and interesting way, and contain moral education and admonishments with profound meanings.

This is the third issue of Chinese idiom series. The souvenir sheet depicts the idiomatic story of “Marking the Boat to Find the Sword”, which aims to satirize those who do not know how to adapt and stick to the rules, and encourage us to adapt to the times and keep abreast of the times.

"Society of Jesus" - Stamps and Souvenir Sheet

Macao is inextricably linked to the Society of Jesus. Through centuries of contacts and exchanges, mutual cultural ideas have collided, allowing Macao to develop its unique charm as a small city.

The stamps depict four Jesuits who are inseparable from the historical development of Macao: Matteo Ricci, St. Francis Xavier, Alessandro Valignano and D. Melchior Carneiro, while the souvenir sheet commemorates the 450th anniversary of the death of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus.

"Traditional Instruments" - Souvenir Sheet

As time goes by, traditional tools of the past are slowly being neglected and forgotten. Through nostalgia, the “Traditional Instruments” aims to help the public realize that seemingly ordinary old objects are actually symbols of our past and enrich our souls with memories.

The souvenir sheet is composed of four small traditional tools, namely an abacus, a wooden planer, an iron and a scale, with related objects as backgrounds. The theme and background are in traditional Chinese colors of yellow, grey, brown and green, while the text is written in bright tones. The ingenious composition enriches the content of the stamps and is one of the fascinating features of “Traditional Instruments”.

"Chinese and Portuguese Ceramics" – Sheetlet

Designer: Aser But / Issue Year: 2000
Ceramics is one of the most fascinating chapters in the history of Chinese art. "Chinese and Portuguese Ceramics" is a set of philatelic issue that includes ceramics, history and culture.

The sheetlet contains six stamps, with each stamp of different themes: style, color, shape, function, pattern and marketing, which together form an octagonal ceramic dish of blue and white Chinese ceramics, depicting fish, vegetables and other foodstuffs as well as other pattern.

The designer builds his inspiration based on life and classic materials, and uses a surrealistic approach to summarize the simple but sophisticated elements into points, lines and surfaces, resulting in a ceramic cultural platter full of color and diverse shapes, which is full of interest. At the same time, it demonstrates the cultural impact of the Eurasian people in the process of interaction, and witnesses the fruitful results of the integration of Chinese and Portuguese cultures to create a new one.

"Chinese and Portuguese Ceramics" - Souvenir Sheet

Ceramics is one of the most fascinating chapters in the history of Chinese art."Chinese and Portuguese Ceramics" is a set of philatelic issue thatincludes ceramics, history and culture. 

The stamp on the souvenir sheet is the first circular stamp issued in Macao. The round ceramic dish features a scene of Chinese and Portuguese people talking to each other. The colorful ceramics are popular among foreigners. The old map of Macao on the side recalls the history of Macao as an important trading port along the maritime Silk Road on the sea more than 400 years ago. 

The designer builds his inspiration based on life and classic materials, and uses a surrealistic approach to summarize the simple but sophisticated elements into points, lines and surfaces, resulting in a ceramic cultural platter full of color and diverse shapes, which is full of interest. At the same time, it demonstrates the cultural impact of the Eurasian people in the process of interaction, and witnesses the fruitful results of the integration of Chinese and Portuguese cultures to create a new one.

"Games and Past Times in Macau ─ Traditional Games" – Stamps

Designer: Vitor Hugo dos Santos Marreiros / Issue Year: 1989
Games are the emotional movement of human life. In addition to the traditional Chinese games of marble, Chinese chess and shuttlecock kicking game, the designer integrated talu, a typical local game much appreciated by Macanese to bring out Macau's unique multiculturalism, and have used these four games as the theme of the stamps to show the interplay between both cultures. These games imply the importance and diversity of the human personality, which is made up of the interweaving of thought, rhythm, coordination and vitality.

The designer uses a modern approach in the composition, but features children from the late Qing Dynasty as the main characters, deliberately creating a sense of simplicity and evoking a deeper memory of life. The designers have created a nostalgic atmosphere and dynamic emotion in the small stamp.
