Commemorative Postmark Cancellation

The service is specifically designed for public and private organizations to commemorate a special occasion or event, or some other notable person or activities. In addition, a special postmark will be applied on the commemorative envelopes or postcards.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Request for Service

    1. The organizer has to complete the application form for the Commemorative Postmark Cancellation Service and submit it to Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau together with the design of the commemorative postmark and envelope/postcard for approval 30 days before the activity.
  2. Commemorative Postmark

    1. The design of the postmark must include the following elements: the wording of “澳門 MACAU”, the authorization code provided by Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau, the date of activity, etc.
    2. Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau shall retain exclusive rights to the postmark, which will only be used for the commemorative cancellation service for the public during the operating hours of the temporary Post Counter.
  3. Commemorative Envelope/Postcard

    1. It is the responsibility of the organizer to print the commemorative envelope/postcard, the final artwork of which must be approved by Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau before production.
    2. The title in both Chinese and Portuguese languages and the date of activity must be printed on the front of the envelope/postcard , while the authorization code issued by Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau must be printed at the back.
    3. The size of the envelope is 114 x 162mm (C6)Sampleor 110 x 220mm (DL) Sample; the size of the postcard is 105 x 150mm Sample.
    4. The commemorative envelope/postcard will only be used for mailing during the operating hours of the temporary Post Counter.
    5. The organizer is required to reserve a certain quantity of envelopes/postcards for Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau and the public. For details, please refer to the application form for the Commemorative Postmark Cancellation Service.
  4. Service Fees

    1. The service fee for official working hours is MOP5,000.00 (five thousand patacas), not including Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
    2. An additional service fee will be charged according to the extra working hours out of the official working hours for the operation of the temporary Post Counter.
    3. In addition to the face value of the stamps used, the service fee for affixing and canceling the stamps on the commemorative envelopes/postcards is MOP1.00 each.
    4. The service fee must be paid to the Macao Postal Savings within 15 days after the service invoice is issued. If the issuing date of the service invoice is less than 15 days from the activity date, the service fee must be paid before the provision of the commemorative postmark cancellation service.
  5. Equipment

    1. The organizer should provide at least 2 lockable desks and 2 chairs at the location with ventilation system and free entrance for the public.
    2. If the organizer requests to have the commemorative envelopes/postcards cancelled with commemorative postmark before the date of activity, the envelopes/postcards must be submitted to Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau 5 working days before the activity. The finished products must be collected at the General Post Office on the date of activity.
  6. Others

    1. If the organizer requests to cancel the commemorative postmark cancellation service after the application has been approved by Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau, a written application to Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau for approval is required. The service can be cancelled only upon the approval of Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau. Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau has the rights to make the final decisions.
    2. Even if Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau approves the application of canceling the activity, the organizer must also be responsible for the service fee (five thousand patacas) and the related fees already generated for the service (such as purchase of envelopes/postcards and stamps, cancellation service, etc.). The organizer should make payment for such fees to Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau.
    3. If the activity is cancelled due to typhoon or force majeure, the paid service fee and the related fees already generated will not be refunded.
    4. If the activity is cancelled, the organizer must destroy the whole quantity of commemorative envelopes/postcards within 5 days, and submit to Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau a destruction certificate signed by the competent person together with company chop.

Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau reserves the right to alter these terms and conditions without prior notice.
